The wrestling team is back! In the previous season, the Curtis wrestling team dominated the Blended League and reached the finals. The year prior to this finals run, the boys roster contained only seven people, while the girls roster had upwards of twenty athletes. This led the coaches to decide to combine both rosters to field a complete team in the PSAL Blended League in the following season.
This summer, the team had a huge turnout, which caused the coaches to decide to move back into the boys league. This team, backed by a young core, composed a record of 2-3. The record doesn’t show the true story, however, as their matches against New Dorp and MSIT went down to the wire. The team is currently waiting to see if they will enter the playoffs and will prepare to head into the borough championships. The team is young, given that it is composed of mostly juniors and sophomores, so the future is looking very bright. Next year, all the beginners will have experience under their belts and will do even better in their next matches. In the next few upcoming seasons, the chance of success is great.
