The Warriors came back from a tough season lastyear. They had a standing of 7-6 in PSAL last season. A lot of the city thought Curtis would have been tested at their game against defending city champion Grand Street Campus, but the Warriors won with an 18-point victory. On October 14th Curtis got all it could handle from Abraham Lincoln High School. In the end the Warriors still remained undefeated. Athlete Quincy Barnes’ third touchdown pass to Kwannah Kollie with 1:32 remaining in the game lifted them to a 32-28 victory. When asked why the team was doing so well this year Quincy Barnes said “ I believe the team has matured a lot from previous seasons, we are now mostly juniors and seniors and are very experienced. Everyone has bought into what Coach Gambo is teaching and it is reflected in our record.”
Quincy Barnes also added his thoughts on the teams contributions through the past few seasons “In previous years, I think you can highlight maybe one or two people who contributed to the team’s success, but the 2016 Warriors are a true team and the success cannot be highlighted by any single person. It is highlighted due to the group overall.”
