Bowlers adapt to new coach
Three coaches in three years for the boys bowling team.
The boys bowling team has had a unique few years as a team. They have had three different bowling coaches in three years. Their current coach is now Mr. Neglia. While most athletes on sports teams get to know and build a relationship with their coaches over their time on the team, the bowling team has had to adapt to a new coaching style each year and learn to play despite the challenge.
Jonathan Guash is a senior and the bowling captain who has been on the team since his freshman year. “I feel that the constant change has brought new ideas to the team,” said Guash. “While we don’t have the same face at practice or matches, we are still together representing Curtis on and off the lanes.”
Matt See is also a senior and has been on the team since he was a sophomore. “I feel having three coaches in three years has altered our expectations of ourselves since we’ve experienced three different coaching styles over the past three years.”
Through the many different faces of the bowling coaches over the years, the bowling team remains optimistic about how the new coaches will affect their bowling, but believe the players have the capability to pull through together. The boys won one match this year.
