The Children’s Aid community school, with the help of members and organizers Luissa Ortiz, Raya Tous, and Courtney Bishop, is starting this winter season off with a bang, or, more specifically, a beat. Being the first of its kind, their Silent Disco provided a chance for students of all ages and programs to unwind to music of their choosing on January 20th, between 2:15 and 5:00 PM, in the student cafeteria. This was made possible through boxes of brand new headphones provided to party-goers, which allowed for them to switch from genre to genre. Food and drink was also provided for all of the 40 people in attendance, largely in the form of boxes of pizza and Kool Aid pouches. This disco is just the first of many that the Children’s Aid will organize on behalf of the student body.
