ARISTA Ceremony
The Curtis Log would like to offer congratulations to the ARISTA members of the classes of 2020 and 2021. On May 16th, 2019, family and friends of inductees gathered with teachers and administrators in the Curtis Auditorium to celebrate the students’ academic accomplishments. There was a speech given by ARISTA Coordinator Ms. Zatoren, Principal Janekie, along with brief statements by senior ARISTA members. The 2019 school year was Ms. Zatoren’s first as the coordinator of the honor society. In her speech, she said, “The students were extraordinary in their dedication to their school work and helping the community”. During the ceremony, four candles were lit to represent scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Inductees recited the pledge and then were official members of the Honor Society. After pledging dedication to the society they called new members up one by one to receive their ARISTA Certificate and, for juniors, a pin. Following the ceremony, students and parents enjoyed refreshments in the cafeteria, where loved ones took pictures and celebrated the achievement that students had truly earned.
