Is The PlayStation 5 Worth It?

I’ve been lucky enough to own the PlayStation 5 for a few months now and I can easily say that it is the best gaming experience that I’ve ever had. The physical size of the system is a little jarring at first, but it’s worth it for the performance you get in exchange. Some of the games that I’ve been playing on the PS5 are Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Genshin Impact, Red Dead Redemption II, and Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a PlayStation exclusive and I believe that this game alone is worth the system. The story hooks you instantly by portraying Miles Morales and his life in a realistic way and the visuals accurately portray New York City, which is especially nice to see right now because of the pandemic.

In terms of hardware, the gameplay experience on the PS5 is fluid and enjoyable. The multiplayer experience is extremely smooth in games like Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and I have not experienced any frame drops while playing. The new DualShock 5 controller is also lots of fun with its improved haptic feedback, which puts you into the action of the game that you’re playing and it’s comfortable to use, even after hours of usage. One thing that I especially enjoy in the PS5 is the implementation of ray tracing, which makes the lighting in video game worlds extremely realistic.

Even though it is a hefty cost to pay at first, the Playstation 5 is built to last for years, as the technology inside is extremely advanced. One upgrade that I would make in the future is adding a hard drive, as the 1 terabyte storage space gets filled up very quickly. In conclusion, on a scale of 1-5, I would rate my experience with the Playstation 5 a 4.7/5. I feel that the console experience is very fun and I know that it will get even better with time, so I recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their gaming experience.
