In the past two months, Rule the World has performed twice. Once in the cafeteria on February 13th, right before our mid-winter break, and again in The Kettle Black along Forest Avenue, on March 18th. The band members Jasmine Taveras, Janayia Velez, Casey Hynes, Max Guevara-Duenas, Princess Alida Degroat, Minerva Pina Sanchez, Zion Lopez, and Abby Hynes did an amazing job in their performance. Some songs were sung as a group, but towards the end Guevara-Duenas performed a solo.
In their Kettle Black concert, Rule the World set up in a corner and played for a nearly an hour. Their set up had taken up a lot of space, but eager listeners quickly filed into the space.
The few complaints that could possibly be found was that sometimes the performance could only be heard at specific tables. The lighting wasn’t the greatest, so seeing these performers was somewhat difficult. However, that issue was fixed in the early half of their performance. Although the band encountered some minor issues, the performance went off without a hitch. Rule the World was very well received by the people watching intently. Cheers rang out to the furthest corners of the room, a clear sign of approval from the crowd.
