With the start of the new year, students are curious about the requirements for Curtis’ honor society. In order to get accepted into Curtis’ honor society ARISTA, you need to have 90% attendance, as well as 90% cumulative average as a junior in the spring semester. If you have an 85% or higher, you will be put on the merit roll. In your core classes and on your transcript, you must have zero failures along with zero dean referrals. You are also required to have 25 hours of school service and 25 hours of community service. Lastly, it is mandatory to participate in the Thanksgiving Basket Drive and Bread of Life Drive that occurs in Spring. The induction takes place in the spring semester of your junior year. For any further questions, you can contact Ms. QuiƱones or see her in room 232.
Anyone interested in playing sports, there are multiple academic and health specifications that you have to maintain. You have to keep a minimum of 90% school attendance in each marking period. You must maintain a minimum GPA of 65 on your report cards or transcript. You need to have passed at least three out of five of the core subjects: English, math, social studies, science, and/or foreign language. Health-wise, a student athlete needs to submit a parental consent form and a physical evaluation form. The physical covers your health history, medical provider, and the results of a full physical exam. For more information, you can visit the PSAL website and read under the tab ‘Resources and procedures’.
